AUGUST 22, 2007 Bluetooth Stereo Music Headset BT-03A from Genius
The Genius BT-03A at 37.5 grams (about 1.33 OZ.) is the lightest Bluetooth Stereo Headset I have seen. It is versatile, looks great and performs very well. I requested the BT-03A as I am working on a review of the AT&T Blackberry Curve and wanted to test the Curve using its Bluetooth capability. The BT-03A and the Curve work well together. The BT-03A will also work with other cell phones if they have the A2DP function or a 3.5 mm jack. I tested the BT-03A with my very basic Creative Movo MP3 player and it did the job quite well. I use the player to listen to music as well as my books from Audible.com.
Key features: - Supports A2DP , AVRCP function - Effective distance up to 30 feet - Rechargeable Li-on battery through USB charger - Continuous use up to 6.5Hrs - Standby up t0 200 Hrs - Great wireless connection with MP3, NB, LCD-TV and DVD
In the Package: - BT-03A Bluetooth Stereo Headset/HeadPhone - RCA Converter to 3.5 mm Jack - AC converter/adaptor & USB connector - Plastic Case - Audio Transmitter
There is no setup for the BT-03A. You do have to charge the built-in battery in the headset as well as the one in the Bluetooth transmitter if you plan to use it with MP3 players or phones that do not have Bluetooth as an included option. Charging times are about 1.5 to 2 hours with playing time averaging 6.5 hours for both. You can charge the Headset or the Transmitter using a USB connection on your computer or the included AC converter. The BT-03A uses BT-1.2 technology and has a wireless range up to 30 feet.
As with other Bluetooth Stereo Headsets this one allows you to answer your phone, control volume up or down, Play/pause music, and backward/forward functions.
Since the Creative Movo MP3 player comes with a standard 3.5 mm headset jack it is easy to connect the Bluetooth Dongle (Transmitter) that comes with the BT-03A. With a phone or an MP3 player you just have to go through a pairing function between the device and the headset to get started. This is done by pressing a button on the transmitter in the case of a player or, once the phone’s Bluetooth option is activated, the button on the earpiece in the headset. At that point lights blink blue and red until the pairing is made. Then they show a steady blue.
The Genius BT-03A Bluetooth Stereo Headset is now a part of my travel and workout kit. It is easy to use, fits my ears, and is light enough that I don’t notice it. The sound is great. I did notice some odd clicks when using the Blackberry Curve with the BT-03A. I think it was the Curve when changing from one song to the next. It did not happen with the Creative Movo. I am now able to use exercise equipment without getting my headset wires all tangled and tripping over myself. TO SEE MORE PRODUCT FROM GENIUS CLICK HERE
