Griffin Survivor Case for iPhone

Griffin provided the Survivor Case for the iPhone to me for testing. My case is military Olive green in color and protection. It protects almost all possible invasions but full water emersion. Case color options are Black, White/black, Pink/black, or Olive Green.

I used the case for 2 weeks and found it to be very good protection for the iPhone. No, I did not perform any of the tests shown on the website. In my usual geek way I accidently dropped the case/phone twice during that period. Overall the Survivor is as advertised. I did find it difficult to use the Camera as the Survivor case covers the camera lens with a moveable flap. This does improve protection but makes quick access difficult. The flap does have a raised part that fits into a slot on the back of the case so the lens is accessible however I found that it would not always stay open during use. If you are a heavy camera user you make have to weigh this issue against having superb protection overall.

The BELT CLIP does not seat tightly. The top end that clips onto the case is easy to accidentally push loose. That can allow the case with the iPhone to fall free. The fall may not be hurt the iPhone. If you do not notice the disconnect the phone could be lost.

Even with the above issues I still find the Survivor case from Griffin to be a solid protective case. It would be great for construction, working outdoors, camping, and other instances where the environment, or your workplace, makes you feel the need for solid protection for your phone.
