Lenovo IdeaPad
I love getting boxes. The other day was a great example. I received a decent sized box and, upon opening it, I found a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t Tablet. This is a laptop/tablet unit that sacrifices low weight and a thin profile to give more powerful capabilities, a real keyboard as well as a virtual one, and a 320GB hard drive. A 33GB portion of that drive is allocated for use if you want to restore an IdeaPad to factory specs. I am in a Lenovo test program that allows me to work with the IdeaPad S10-3t for 6 months. During that period I will see if the extra weight is worth it or not. I plan to post details of my testing results during the 6 month period. Lenovo is currently running a limited time offer where you can purchase the S10-3t Tablet for $499.99. That is $200.00 less than the list price on their website. This offer includes free shipping.

What I have seen so far: Pluses: The touch screen with its rotation from a laptop to a Tablet is very useable. The touch feature called Veritouch is as advertised. It works very well in notebook or tablet mode. There are a number of APPS that assist you with issues that may arise.
Not so Positive: Idea Notes (Pop Up Ads) is annoying but can be removed by user. The unit came with access to Microsoft Office 2007 (a Trial Version). That would have been fine but when I attempted to download it a POP-up told me that version was no longer supported and directed me to Version 10. After I installed Microsoft Office 10 all worked well. Perhaps it was an early sample and your IdeaPad will be updated to have Windows 10 download capability.
