My New Mac Lion Edition by Wallace Wang

With a total of 478 pages (Including the 12 page index) this is the thickest How to Book about a computer that I have seen in years. Rather than being a super technical book this one helps new Mac owners as well as Mac forever users so they can more easily interface with the new Lion operating system. The subtitle of the book is “Simple Projects to Get You Started” That is very true. I found it more interesting and informative than a manual as it helped with tasks rather than technical functions. My New Mac disguises the education by burying most technical stuff in tasks that we all need to work with everyday.
Long ago I taught people to play solitaire as a lesson in using a mouse. This book is full of similar tasks, and more, that can help people learn without major pain.
Here are just a few samples: Basic Training Wrangling Files and folders Making Life Easier Playing Music and Movies Surfing and sharing the internet Maintaining your Mac
All of these section names lead to chapters that provide a little fun as well as teaching you how to become comfortable. Yes, there are many experienced Mac users who may turn up their noses at the simplicity of these tasks. Take a second look. You might be surprised.
Here is a link to the publisher. They sell the book as do Amazon and others.
