Samsung Captivate for ATT A Galaxy S Series member I recently reviewed the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon, another Galaxy S series service provider, and found it to be a pretty good phone. When the chance came to take a look at the Captivate I wanted to see if it was the same or different due to AT&T being the wireless supplier. For the most part I was not disappointed. The Samsung Captivate is very close to the same size, weight, look, and feel. It also has all of the Fascinate capabilities.
Samsung highlights these items for both phones Galaxy S with Android 2.1 OS Super AMOLED 4" Touchscreen Integrated Social Networking Capabilities Faster Texting with Swype (I never got Swype down. It is most likely me)
I compared the more detailed specs for both phones and, with the exception of some minor differences, the Captivate and Fascinate capabilities are identical. If you want to see both sets of specs CLICK here for Fascinate and CLICK HERE for Captivate.
Even though the cameras are the same I have posted test photos/videos on Flickr for the Captivate. CLICK HERE. The complete Fascinate review, including photo/video samples, can be found by CLICKING HERE.
It really comes down to your location and the service provider/signal that works best for you. Where I live one or two service providers/signals stand out as they are strong. Those are where I take my business. I know traveling will take you to areas where service is better or worse. That is not where you spend most of your time. You may or may not agree with me but a strong signal and few or no dropped calls is more soothing than any other possible service when it comes to cell phone happiness.
