Targus PR 700
Roller Case

APRIL 20, 2007

Targus PR700 Port 3.1
     Easy Roller Notebook Case

Front ViewThis case is solidly built, safe, and convenient for any traveler. Targus has included many extras in this design. While looking it over I found myself thinking “There is no place for a water bottle at either end of the case.” Then I found a solitary zipper pocket at one end. I unzipped it and reached inside. There was a mesh bottle holder tucked inside. It is firmly connected to the case and will hold up to a 1 liter sized bottle. While searching the various pockets I found a small light clipped to a ring inside the work area that, when a button is held down, will illuminate the area so you can locate items when the plane is dark.

Easy to Pack.
OrganizerPocket OpenThe Port 3.1 Easy Roller is designed to fit notebooks with up to 15” screens. This top loading case is made with rugged ballistic nylon for added durability and features 8 CD sleeves in the workstation, a removable file folder with business card slip pocket, retractable airline ticket and passport. The padded sunglasses case that is included is a lifesaver for my sunglasses or the extra pair of reading glasses I always carry. There are four removable accessory pouches for power cables, phone or cable cords, USB, and other connecting cables. This reduces the chance of them all becoming one big bunch of spaghetti.

All Pockets Open After PackingTo see what would it would hold I loaded my Lenovo ThinkPad loaner and all of its accessories, a few file folders, 100 business cards, my MP3 player, some spare batteries, a battery charger, the AblePlanet Clear Harmony headphones, NETGEAR Wireless Travel Router, a Cell Phone, a water bottle, 4 CDs and 4 DVDs, a hard cover book, 4 thumb drives, the Verbatim Store n Go 12 gig portable USB drive, some paper clips and pens, a tiny stapler, and my passport. I then topped it off with the Docupen RC 8000 from Planon (not the entire executive kit – just the unit and cable/charger). At this point I had a fairly full case. I rolled it onto the bathroom scale to find I had, including the 8 pound case, about a 25.5 pound load. I still have some room in it for more stuff. I was happy I did not have to carry all this using the strap on my shoulder. I am not sure I want to place my Cell phone or PDA anywhere but in my pocket because I am paranoid about losing them.

Easy to Move Through Airports and Long Taxi lines.
Attachs to your LuggageThere is a pocket on the back of the case with a zipper at the bottom that allows you to attach this case tightly to your other rAirTrak Pneumatic Wheelsolling luggage making this the perfect solution for the business traveler. Since the case is a top loader it is easy to remove the notebook when going through the scanner line. The handle can be extended and locked at 36 or 39 inches. The handle drops down into a zippered pocket so it is hidden when closed. No chance of it catching on anything and breaking when not in use. Targus uses AirTrak pneumatic wheels that provide a durable, quiet ride. It may be too wide to roll through some airplane aisles so plan on having to carry it to your seat by the handle grips.

Easy to Carry On Your Shoulder
Included is a removable/adjustable form fitting shoulder strap constructed with strong nylon webbing and metal hardware for carrying the case. It distributes the weight pretty well. Beware: If you really pack this case to overflowing, as I do, the capacity is such that you could get some serious back pains if you carry it. Roll it everywhere you can.

Easily Protects Your Computer and Other Delicate Electronics
SafePORT Air Cushion DrawingThis case includes the patented SafePORT Air Cushion System for maximized notebook protection. The case is made with rugged ballistic nylon for added durability. Your computer is safely snug in the middle pocket surrounded by the best armor available.

Overall the Targus PR700 Roller Case is a great choice for anyone who needs to bring their electronics and files with them in the air, in the car, on the street, or even to grandma’s house. With a lifetime replacement warranty it is a sure bet. Retail price is $149.99.
