This is the third in a series of Adesso Keyboards I have tested. The Adesso 2.4 GHz RF Wireless SlimTouch Pro Touchpad Keyboard is a big brother to the Mini Wireless Keyboard I tested last. When opening this one I thought “Just another Big Keyboard.” After running the tests and using it for a day I have to say it is more than that. There were a few bumps in the road but it was overall a great experience.

Getting things to link up was my first issue. It would help if there was a flashing light in the on/off area to make me feel that something was happening in the Linking operation. The USB wireless receiver did flash once ant then nothing. After I tried on/off and plugged in the receiver twice it finally linked. I found that out by moving the pointer when using the touch pad. With access to 12 channels and 6500 IDs I found the 30 foot access to wireless to be a fair claim. This product works well with Desktops and Notebooks with wireless capability.

Once started I found the touchpad and the keyboard seem much easier to use. The touchpad pointer is steady and the keyboard gives good tactile feedback. Solitaire without a mouse was not as easy to play when using the touchpad and the left button below it to click and drag cards. It got better with practice.

I really like all the Function buttons. They run vertically on each side of the keyboard. Once I got them down I was easily able to perform many tasks. The Sleep feature is a good addition as is the on/off switch to conserve batteries. That is if you remember to use it.

The Adesso 2.4 GHz RF Wireless SlimTouch Pro Touchpad Keyboard performed well with the Lenovo R400 ThinkPad as well as the Dell Desktop. I feel this keyboard is a good wireless option for those who want all the bells and whistles and need to use it up close or at a distance. Retail at $119.99 but selling for as low as $78.75 online.
